Job Overview

An opportunity has become available for a high caliber Ultra-heavy motor vehicle driver to distribute goods to various clients.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare vehicle for trip and operate Ultra heavy duty vehicles.
2. Load, Transport and offloading of vehicles.
3. Handle required documentation and perform ancillary duties
4. All other reasonable instructions from Supervisor
5. Prepared to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
6. Safe driving record and clean criminal record
7. Housekeeping of vehicles, uniform and PPE
8. Adhere to promote SOP’s and Safety Procedures Successfully undergo / complete the following:
9. Medical evaluation
10. USCS training modules
11. Induction processes
12. Practical driving evaluation
13. Verification of clean criminal record
14. Ensure the vehicle is not overloaded as per the National Road Traffic Act.
15. Responsible for goods to be offloaded by either operating offloading equipment or overseeing the offloading process.
16. Ensure the load is secured before departure.
17. Opening and closing of tarpaulins where applicable.
18. Deal with Customers in a professional and efficient manner.

Requirements

1. Grade 12
2. Literacy level (Verbally and Numerically literate)
3. Code EC driver’s license with valid PrDP (DGP)
4. Minimum 3 years experience driving a Ultra Heavy Vehicle
5. Must be 25 years of age and above
6. Must be prepared to work weekends and public holidays
7. Defensive driving techniques
8. Function and location of vehicle components
9. Reporting procedure of emergencies and defects
10. Vehicle inspections and operating a fire extinguisher
11. Maximizing vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency
12. Vehicle loading techniques
